Future Directions of the Blog

Happy Thanksgiving!

On holidays, we often take time to contemplate what we have, where we have been, and ultimately where we are going. When I began this blog with M.O.D I always insisted on being totally open and honest with all of you. Tonight, this is an open conversation with all of you on my thoughts on where this blog is going and what it should become.

My partner and I are traveling on two different paths in our professional lives aside from Ministry of Defense, LLC. There is nothing wrong with that, it is just a recognition of a fact. The year 2020 has devastated our class and our consulting practice. We are just like many of you out there. We share your concerns, and we share your pain. We also hope to instill in you hope, because like the phoenix, we shall rise from the ashes to a greater being of beauty than we were before this tragedy began.

As a writer, sometimes the greatest challenge lies in finding something to share with you. You see, a writer is nothing without a reader. You and I share a unique relationship. I express thoughts, and in turn I hope that it allows you to develop your own thoughts, ideas, and emotions. These thoughts and emotions may be totally foreign to those that I express. That’s marvelous! I at least hope to be a catalyst in your growth along the path of knowledge. My problem has never been finding topics to share with you. Quite the contrary actually. Hence, the catalyst for this second blog this week with M.O.D.

Glenn and I travel along two separate paths professionally aside from M.O.D. He has unique circumstances and concerns that are very real for him. The circumstances in his professional life do not present themselves in my professional life. That is just a reality. But they do bear mentioning.

As a content creator, there are a multitude of things that I want to share with all of you. I take my writing seriously. With the publication of each blog, I take every precaution to ensure that it is grammatically sound and that the ideas I share with you represent what I want to share with you.

So, what am I saying to you?

I am at a crossroads with this blog because there are things that I want to write about that could inadvertently cause my partner potential problems with his professional life. I do not shy away from controversy. I do not shy away from expressing opinions that may contradict popular social ideas and beliefs. I do not tell you what you want to hear simply because it is the path of least resistance. That is dishonest, and it is wrong.

The infrequency of this blog over the past few weeks has been a direct result of my intention to not write about a topic that could cause someone grief that means a great deal to me. Yet, I am a writer. Writers have to write. What is the path forward? How do I present quality content to you without stifling creativity? I am not sure at present moment.

I would encourage all of you to seek out our podcast entitled Weapons of Mass Discussion on venues such as Anchor and Spotify. We also have a YouTube channel that hosts a video version of our podcast. Also, please reach out to us here on the website and in the comments section of the blog. Let us know what you think. What would you like to see? What would you like to read about?

Life is about change. This blog isn’t going away, but it also must change. Over the coming weeks, we’ll see what happens together.
